Ted Melfi uses his birth name, Theodore, to make people think he’s more sophisticated than he is. But in all reality, Melfi is a blue collar filmmaker. His work as a writer / director / producer includes the Golden Globe, Oscar, BAFTA, Critics Choice and SAG nominated films Hidden Figures and St. Vincent. As a writer / producer his credits include, The Starling, Going in Style, El Camino Christmas, American Dreamer and Corner Office. In the commercial space, Melfi has crafted spots for Toyota, Intel, Domino’s, Subaru, McDonald’s and FedEx, to name a few. He recently won the AICP Award for Best Short Form Film for his Apple film (shot on iPhone), Daughter.
